Overview

Situated in what is undoubtedly the city’s most central location, the striking structure of Central Park rises from the CBD’s only green space, reaching 249 metres into the sky – making it the tallest building in Perth. Completed in 1992, Central Park has long been recognised as one of Perth’s most iconic buildings for its stature as well as its place within the business community . Comprising 51 levels with breathtaking views – stretching from Perth’s world-famous crystalline beaches in the West, across the beautiful Swan River and to the distant hills in the east – Central Park offers an enviable destination for businesses. Designed by iconic WA architectural firm, Forbes and Fitzhardinge, its creators envisioned an angular, geometric and striking building that would forever shape and redefine the Perth skyline. From its soaring glass canopy, to its podium towers, and the sprawling park at its base, Central Park is unlike any other building in Perth. Situated in a park setting at the junction of St Georges Terrace, William Street and Hay Street, the iconic tower is Perth's tallest building and is in very close proximity to all CBD amenities and public transportation.

The building is formed by a composite steel and concrete frame, with various setbacks in its profile, meaning the upper floors are much smaller in area than lower levels. Outrigger trusses at the top of the building and at the various setbacks help to stiffen the building's reinforced concrete core against the strong winds prevalent in the area. The base of the building features a small park, for which the tower is named.
